The launch of HORIZON CAMPUS gives me immense pleasure and an enormous sense of achievement more because of the extensive suite of magnificent opportunities we will be able to offer in the way of education to the youth of Sri Lanka at an affordable fee and internationally acceptable quality. Conceptually, the establishment of a university-style education institute was derived from a long period of gestation for several reasons. One overarching consideration was finding a suitable green and quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The other was to have a purpose-built infrastructure to house an excellent faculty providing a congenial teaching & learning ambiance for students to experience the university lifestyle.

Now we could feel happy that at HORIZON CAMPUS located in Malabe, we could find all these and more with ultra-modern lecture halls, state-of-the-art facilities, and a sports complex. I have brought to HORIZON CAMPUS a wealth of experience I gathered from being in the education industry, I am of resolute confidence that with the well qualified, experienced and dedicated staff I have, I could achieve greater heights at HORIZON CAMPUS. HORIZON CAMPUS commences with a variety of disciplines conducted by its School of ICT, School of Education and Teacher Training, and School of Psychology. In its second phase by 2012, HORIZON CAMPUS looks forward to establishing the School of Law, School of Engineering, School of Built Environment and School of Bio-Science. All these programmes are degree programmes with awarding body being a foreign University which is recognized internationally including the UGC (Sri Lanka). The special feature of our philosophy of education is to educate students developing their skills to be useful and productive citizens with high moral, ethical, cultural and religious values to live in harmony in a diversity of social aspirations. We at Horizon Campus pledge to serve with utmost integrity and commitment to achieve these ends.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Horizon Campus, a vibrant and forward-looking institution committed to empowering the youth of Sri Lanka through quality, internationally recognized higher education.

At Horizon Campus, we believe that true learning cannot be confined within the four walls of a classroom. We have deliberately moved beyond the traditional lecture-based model, thinking differently about how our students learn, and have put in place the facilities and arrangements to make that possible. Across our Faculties of Management, Information Technology, Nursing, Science, Technology, Law and Education, our students are actively engaged in live projects, practical training, and hands-on work that prepare them for the realities of their professions. One clear example is our own campus-operated agriculture farm, the only one of its kind among private universities in the country, where students are involved in the complete journey from tissue culture to commercialization, gaining true “lab-to-market” exposure across the entire production process. This is just one example of how Horizon Campus brings theory and practice together, ensuring that our students graduate not only with knowledge but also with the confidence and real-world readiness to excel in their chosen fields.

Horizon Campus, Malabe, is an institution that inculcates within its student and has continually developed a strong sense of community and a growing reputation for academic excellence, within the field of higher education. With infrastructural and lecturing facilities which is second to none, Horizon Campus has developed over the recent past, a very hospitable and inclusive ethos, which we believe is a cornerstone in the smooth educational cycle of the student. We have also built a strong presence in the field of Non-State Higher education and a growing national and international profile. The desire of the senior management of Horizon Campus is to inspire and facilitate both our students and staff to reach their full potential, to build and develop knowledge, thereby making a constructive contribution to Sri Lanka as a whole. We are confident that with the able and highly qualified faculty presently employed in Campus, we will be able to achieve our vision for students and country at large.
